Ranchi police on Saturday arrested Abhishek Kumar alias Suraj Singh, a shooter wanted in the murder of land dealer Anil Tiger in Kanke on March 26, 2025. The arrest was made from Hatiara in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
Details of the arrest
Rural SP Gaurav Goswami said a special investigation team was formed after a tip-off. A team was sent to Kolkata to apprehend him. During interrogation, Singh confessed to receiving Rs 20 lakh for the murder.
Additional crimes
Singh was also wanted in an attempt to murder trader Radheshyam Sahu under Nagri police station limits on October 15 last year. The SP stated that Suraj had taken another Rs 5 lakh to hire shooters who killed Anil Tiger over a land dispute. Anil had a dispute with Deovrat Shadeo, who hired Suraj to eliminate him. Suraj was absconding since then and avoided using mobile phones to evade detection.
Suraj was an accused in four other cases registered in Ranchi, Hazaribag and Bokaro districts.
