In a significant push for infrastructure and public welfare, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday inaugurated development projects valued at more than Rs 719 crore in the Lunkaransar area of Bikaner district. The Chief Minister declared that his administration has established a solid base for a prosperous and developed Rajasthan.
Government as a Servant, Public as Priority
Addressing the gathering, CM Sharma framed the government's role as that of a dedicated servant, drawing a parallel by stating it considers the poor as "lord Ganesh." He emphasized transparency as a moral duty, saying the government is obligated to present its report card directly to the people. Sharma highlighted that budgetary allocations for development have been made without any discrimination across all 200 assembly constituencies of the state. To ensure citizens are informed, details of these works are being communicated through special development raths.
On-Ground Governance and Major Welfare Announcements
The event also featured a review of a Rural Problem Resolution Camp. The Chief Minister released two key publications: the District Development Booklet, which compiles success stories from rural service camps, and the Urban Service Camp–2025 booklet. Sharma explained that these rural and urban camps are designed to take administration to the people's doorsteps, offering a suite of essential services including:
- Birth, death, and marriage registrations
- Fire No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) and trade licenses
- Sewer connections and housing pattas (leases)
- Mutation services and social security enrolment
Outlining major welfare strides, the Chief Minister announced a substantial increase in farmer assistance. The aid has been raised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000, with a phased plan to further increase it to Rs 12,000. On the employment front, he stated that approximately 92,000 government jobs have been provided in the last two years, while the recruitment process for an additional 1.56 lakh posts is currently in progress.
Infrastructure and Irrigation Boost
Chief Minister Sharma dedicated significant attention to water infrastructure and farmer support. He disclosed that projects worth Rs 1,717 crore have been launched to strengthen the Gang Canal system. Furthermore, the Ferozepur feeder has been rebuilt at a cost of Rs 647 crore, and a massive allocation of Rs 3,400 crore has been earmarked for the renovation of the Indira Gandhi Nahar Pariyojana (IGNP) canal. In a relief to the agricultural community, he confirmed that daytime power supply for farmers has commenced in 22 districts, with a target to cover all districts by the year 2027.
Through these announcements and foundational ceremonies, the state government aimed to project a comprehensive vision of development focused on grassroots governance, farmer welfare, job creation, and critical infrastructure overhaul.
