Rajasthan CM Sharma Displeased with Banswara Official, APO Ordered

Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday expressed strong dissatisfaction with the performance of Banswara Nagar Parishad commissioner Durgesh Singh Rawal. Following this, the local self-government department issued orders placing the officer under awaiting posting order (APO). This action occurred during the chief minister's review meetings and field visits on the second day of his three-day tour of Banswara and Dungarpur districts.

Action Against Medical Officer

Earlier, during his visit to Churada village in Banswara, Sharma took cognisance of complaints regarding alleged financial irregularities. He directed the medical department to place Kushalgarh Block Chief Medical Officer Dr. Girish Bhabhore under APO as well.

Review Meeting and Directives

At the Banswara district collectorate auditorium, Sharma conducted a detailed review meeting with district-level officers. The meeting focused on the progress of various schemes, programmes, campaigns, and innovations. He sought category-wise and area-wise details of achievements and directed officials to accelerate the implementation of welfare schemes. The CM instructed officers to undertake regular field visits, take suo motu cognisance of local problems, and ensure swift resolution. He further ordered strict action against those involved in illegal religious conversion and against government employees found participating in political activities.

Public Grievances and Development Initiatives

During his visit to Churada village, the CM held a chaupal under a peepal tree and listened to public grievances. He approved essential development initiatives, including funding for a Maa Badi centre, tubewell construction, and temple beautification. Additionally, he ordered improvements in classrooms, irrigation facilities, and a new milk collection centre to enhance the region's infrastructure. He also directed the district collector to construct an anicut on the Hiran River for irrigation and drinking water purposes.

Humanitarian Gesture

During the visit, Sharma instructed officials to transfer assistant engineer Hemendra Kumar Kalal from Sagwara to Banswara on humanitarian grounds. This decision came after Kalal's wife informed the CM about their son suffering from cerebral palsy.

Focus on Dungarpur

During a district-level meeting in Dungarpur, the CM said a detailed action plan should be prepared to promote processing units there. This would help farmers get good income and provide employment opportunities for the youth at the local level. Later, while addressing a Civic Felicitation and Cleanliness Message Programme in Dungarpur, the CM announced that Dungarpur and Banswara would be developed as tourist destinations.
