In a significant administrative reshuffle within the police department on Tuesday, the Rajasthan state government transferred 17 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The reorganisation includes the appointment of one officer from the Awaiting Posting Order (APO) list, additional charge responsibilities for a senior officer, and replacement of superintendents of police (SP) in seven districts: Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Didwana-Kuchaman, Nagaur, Tonk, Bharatpur, and Dausa.
Key Appointments at Higher Ranks
Additional Director General (ADG) of Civil Rights, Lata Manoj Kumar, has been transferred to the role of ADG for Community Policing. In another major move, senior IPS officer Harendra Kumar Mahawar, who previously served in the Crime Investigation Department (CID) and Criminal Branch (CB), has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) of the Kota Range, a position that had remained vacant for an extended period.
Among other IG-rank officers, KB Vandana, who was awaiting posting orders after completing her central deputation, has been transferred to the Crime Branch as IG.
District-Level Changes
Several district SPs have been reassigned. Manish Tripathi has been moved from SP of Chittorgarh to SP of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Jaipur. Dharmendra Singh, formerly SP of Bhilwara, has been appointed as the new SP of Chittorgarh. Sagar, who was serving as SP of Dausa, will now take charge as SP of Bhilwara.
SP of ATS, Gyan Chandra Yadav, has been transferred as SP of Didwana-Kuchaman. Richa Tomar has been posted as Commandant of the 11th Battalion of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) in Delhi. Rajesh Kumar Meena has been moved from SP of Tonk to SP of Bharatpur. Piyush Dixit, who was appointed as SP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jaipur in March, has now been assigned as SP of Dausa.
Other Notable Transfers
The reshuffle also includes Kalu Ram Rawat, who was recently absent from duty for over three months and had been issued a recall notice by Police Headquarters. He has now been transferred as IG of Telecommunication.
Additionally, ADG of Police Headquarters, Hawa Singh Ghumaria, has been given the additional charge of ADG for Civil Rights and Anti-Human Trafficking, expanding his responsibilities.
These changes aim to streamline operations and address vacancies across various police units in the state.
