Rajasthan Government Implements Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle, Transfers 25 IAS Officers

In a significant administrative overhaul, the Rajasthan state government executed a major bureaucratic reshuffle on Thursday, transferring a total of 25 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across various departments. This sweeping realignment of top officials is expected to bring fresh leadership and streamline governance in key sectors.

Key Appointments and Transfers in the Reshuffle

Akhil Arora, who served as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has been relieved of his additional charge of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). Meanwhile, Ajitabh Sharma, previously the ACS for Energy, has been moved out of the Secretariat and appointed as the Chairperson of the Revenue Board in Ajmer, along with taking charge of the Rural Non-Farm Development Agency (RUDA).

In another notable shift, Aparna Arora has been transferred from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department to the Mines and Petroleum Department, retaining her ACS position. Similarly, Sreya Guha, who was the ACS in charge of the Rural Development Department, has been reassigned outside the Secretariat. She now assumes the roles of Director General of HCM RIPA and Managing Director and Chairperson of the Rajasthan Financial Corporation.

Additional Administrative Changes and New Responsibilities

Alok Gupta, formerly the Chairperson of the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, has been transferred to the Urban Development and Housing Department as an ACS. He replaces Debashish Prusty, who will now take over Gupta's previous position at the Pollution Control Board.

Rajesh Kumar Yadav has been appointed as the ACS for the School Education and Sanskrit Education Department. Dinesh Kumar will now oversee the Social Justice and Empowerment Department and the Child Rights Department, in addition to handling Administrative Reforms and Coordination.

Arti Dogra, who serves as the Chairperson of Discoms and Managing Director of JVVNL, will also take on the additional responsibility of Energy Secretary. Praveen Gupta, ACS for PWD, has been relieved of his charge of the Tourism, Art, and Culture Departments. He has been given the Youth Affairs and Sports Departments alongside PWD.

Suchi Tyagi, previously the Secretary to the Transport Department, has been assigned the charge of Tourism, Art, and Culture. Bhawani Singh Detha, who was in charge of the Women and Child Development Department, will now lead the Transport Department as the Principal Secretary.

Further Reassignments and Strategic Postings

Saravana Kumar, who held the position of Secretary and Commissioner in the Science and Technology Department, has been appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of Jaipur. He replaces Poonam, who will now take charge of the Women and Child Development Department as Secretary.

Hemant Gera, the former Chairperson of the Revenue Board, will now lead PHED as the Principal Secretary. Krishna Kunal, previously in charge of School Education, has been reassigned to the Rural Development Department as Secretary. Additionally, P C Kishan has been appointed as the Secretary to the Labour Department.

This comprehensive reshuffle reflects the government's ongoing efforts to optimize administrative efficiency and align departmental leadership with current governance priorities. The changes are anticipated to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness across Rajasthan's public sector.
