Vasundhara Raje Calls for Recognition of Loyal BJP Workers in Political Appointments
In a significant address at the state BJP office in Jaipur on Sunday, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje urged the party leadership to prioritize loyal and committed workers for political appointments, issuing a stern caution against rewarding opportunists. Speaking on the occasion of the party's foundation day, Raje reflected on the BJP's 46-year journey, highlighting the challenges posed by shifting loyalties and changing affiliations within the political landscape.
Emphasis on Ideological Commitment and Dedication
Raje stressed that dedication and long-term contribution to the organisation must serve as the key criteria for appointments. "Some people change parties, and some change loyalties. There are also those who change parties but not their mindset. It is important that we recognise and reward those who have remained committed to the party's core ideology," she asserted. She further elaborated that opportunities should be extended to individuals who have actively worked for the party and genuinely believe in its foundational principles, rather than to those seeking personal gain.
Legacy of BJP Leaders and Current Strengths
Recalling the enduring legacy of prominent BJP figures such as Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Deendayal Upadhyaya, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani, Vijaya Raje Scindia, and Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Raje emphasized that the party's foundation was built on relentless struggle and unwavering ideological commitment. She noted that this foundation has been further strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underscoring the importance of maintaining these core values in contemporary politics.
Advice to Party Workers and Leadership Praise
Raje also offered practical advice to party workers, encouraging them to focus on their duties rather than actively seeking positions. "Do not work for posts. If you work sincerely, positions will follow," she advised, citing Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia as a prime example of selfless leadership. Additionally, she commended Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and state BJP president Madan Rathore for their effective efforts in disseminating the party's message to the grassroots level, acknowledging their role in bolstering the BJP's presence in Rajasthan.
This address by Vasundhara Raje highlights ongoing internal discussions within the BJP regarding reward mechanisms and the recognition of steadfast party members, reflecting broader themes of loyalty and ideological purity in Indian political dynamics.
