Remote Polling Stations in Dindigul, Theni See High Turnout

Polling stations in the remote mountain settlements of Theni and Dindigul districts witnessed a good turnout on Thursday, as voters exercised their franchise in large numbers.

High Turnout in Dindigul District

As of 3 pm, polling stations located in Dindigul district, such as Velagavi, Chinnur, and Periyur of Kodaikanal, recorded 80%, 90%, and 85% turnout respectively. All these stations fall under the Palani assembly constituency.

Voter Participation in Theni District

In Theni district, 219 out of 310 votes were polled at the Oothukadu station, while 44 out of 75 votes were cast at the Central station in the Bodinayakkanur constituency. The Vellimalai estate at Varusanadu, which comes under the Andipatti constituency, registered 100% polling, with all five voters casting their vote.
