Ranchi Municipal Corporation Launches Anti-Encroachment Drive in Hindpiri & Hatia
RMC Removes Encroachments in Ranchi for Urban Development

In a significant move aimed at reclaiming civic land for planned development, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has initiated a strict drive against illegal encroachments in key areas of the city. The action follows a detailed administrative inspection carried out on Tuesday.

Administrative Inspection Triggers Action

The drive was spearheaded by RMC administrator Sushant Gaurav, who personally led a municipal team to multiple locations across Ranchi. The primary objective was to assess the status of civic land and assets. During the inspection in ward no. 52 (Hatia), officials identified illegal occupation on municipal property. Gaurav immediately directed the concerned officers to start eviction proceedings and conduct proper land measurements to ensure legal action against the encroachers.

Officials stated that the core goal is to secure civic land for systematic urban development, which is crucial for the city's growth. In ward no. 22 (Hindpiri), the team inspected a community hall built by the civic body and highlighted the urgent need for repairs and improvements. Instructions were issued to speed up the necessary maintenance work.

Land to be Used for PMAY Housing and Public Welfare

In a major announcement, officials revealed that the land cleared from encroachments in Hindpiri and Hatia will be utilized for a constructive purpose. The space will be used to construct houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). This initiative is specifically aimed at rehabilitating eligible families who are affected by the eviction drive.

"Our focus is on planned development while safeguarding the interests of economically weaker sections," Administrator Sushant Gaurav emphasized. He further added that the RMC is currently compiling ward-wise data of all its land and properties. While encroachments will be dealt with strictly, the rehabilitation of affected families will be ensured through various government schemes.

Balancing Enforcement with Rehabilitation

The RMC's approach appears to be two-pronged: enforcing the law to free up public land and simultaneously providing a social safety net. During the inspection in Hindpiri, the team also undertook measurements of nearby municipal land to explore its potential use for future public welfare projects.

"RMC is compiling ward-wise data of its land and properties. Encroachments will be dealt with strictly, but rehabilitation of affected families will also be ensured through govt schemes," Gaurav stated, outlining the corporation's balanced strategy. This drive marks a concerted effort by the Ranchi civic body to streamline urban planning and ensure that public land is used for the benefit of the community at large.
