TVK Leader Sengottaiyan Predicts Vijay as Future CM, Details District Demands
Sengottaiyan: Vijay to Be CM in 2026, Promises Gobichettipalayam District

TVK Leader Sengottaiyan Campaigns in Erode, Foresees Vijay as Chief Minister

KA Sengottaiyan, the chief coordinator of the Tamilaga Vettrik Kazhagam (TVK), conducted a vigorous campaign in Vellalapalayam near Gobichettipalayam in Erode district. Following his public address, he engaged with reporters, delivering a series of bold statements regarding the party's future and local issues.

Vijay's Popularity Compared to MGR, Confidence in 2026 Victory

Sengottaiyan emphasized the overwhelming public support for TVK leader Vijay, noting that large crowds gather for his events without any monetary incentives. He asserted that this spontaneous enthusiasm indicates a deep-seated public acceptance and a growing desire for political change in Tamil Nadu. Drawing a historical parallel, he claimed that no other contemporary leader in India has received such a heartfelt welcome, comparing Vijay's popularity to that of the legendary former chief minister M.G. Ramachandran (MGR).

Recalling Vijay's recent tour in Trichy, Sengottaiyan highlighted an incident where Vijay disembarked from his bus to directly interact with the public, despite police expressing security concerns. He described the response from children and youth as particularly remarkable and heartening. Based on these observations, Sengottaiyan expressed unwavering confidence that Vijay will ascend to the position of chief minister following the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections.

Long-Standing Demand for Gobichettipalayam as a Separate District

Addressing local developmental issues, Sengottaiyan reiterated the long-standing demand for declaring Gobichettipalayam a separate district with its headquarters located in the town itself. He revealed that efforts to achieve this were initiated during the 2016–17 period when his former party was in power, but the move was ultimately postponed. Sengottaiyan made a firm promise, stating that if Vijay assumes power after the 2026 elections, Gobichettipalayam will be officially declared a separate district without delay.

He provided practical details to support this pledge, noting that approximately 100 acres of land are already available and ready for development. Government offices could be constructed on this land immediately, requiring no additional financial burden on the state exchequer.

Environmental Victory and Criticism of Rival Parties

Sengottaiyan also announced a significant environmental achievement, claiming that permission for a proposed dyeing unit across the Bhavani River in the Kodiveri area has been withdrawn. He described this as a historic first in Tamil Nadu, attributing the success to sustained pressure exerted by the TVK in collaboration with local farmers' association leaders. He reaffirmed the party's steadfast commitment to protecting the Bhavani River, which serves as a crucial source of drinking water and irrigation for ten blocks in the region.

Turning his attention to political rivals, Sengottaiyan dismissed Naam Tamilar Katchi coordinator Seeman, stating that Seeman has no realistic prospect of coming to power and therefore does not merit a detailed response. He also reflected on his own political journey, mentioning that while he faithfully followed leadership decisions during his tenure as a nine-time MLA in his former party, he now places his complete trust and faith in Vijay's leadership.

Allegations Against AIADMK and Emotional Reflections

Sengottaiyan made pointed allegations against the AIADMK, citing the case of former Speaker Dhanapal. He claimed that Dhanapal was denied an opportunity to contest the Assembly election, while the TVK has offered a position to Dhanapal's son. He questioned how a loyal senior leader like Dhanapal, who he said twice helped save the AIADMK during difficult times, could be sidelined in such a manner. Sengottaiyan alleged that in the current AIADMK, only those with substantial financial resources seem to secure a place, implying a decline in the party's values.

Speaking emotionally, Sengottaiyan shared his personal pain at being discarded by his former political party after having been elevated to significant positions. He stated that it was deeply hurtful to be cast aside so abruptly. He emphasized that political leadership should not be perceived as a favor granted by a single individual, but rather that every member has equal rights within a party structure.

Concluding his remarks, Sengottaiyan accused the ruling DMK government of failing to provide adequate security for TVK's public meetings and gatherings, suggesting administrative bias against his party.
