This initial jolt was followed by a second, slightly stronger earthquake. At 9:19 AM, just eleven minutes later, a quake of magnitude 3.4 hit the same region. The epicenter for this tremor was also near Rajkot, positioned 14 km east-northeast of the city, at a shallow depth of 5 kilometers.
