The arrested activists have been identified as Vivek Birsanta, aged 23 and a resident of Shillai in Sirmaur district; Dev Raj, aged 26 from Dadahu tehsil in Sirmaur; and Anshul Minhas, aged 22 from Nadaun tehsil in Hamirpur. All three were apprehended on Monday following a thorough police investigation into the clash.

According to official reports, on February 27, the police received urgent information about a violent altercation between activists of the two prominent student organizations at HPU. Upon receiving the alert, a team from the Boileauganj police station immediately rushed to the university campus to control the escalating situation.
During the clash, several students sustained injuries and were promptly transported to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital in Shimla for medical treatment. The police have registered a case under Section 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt, and have initiated a comprehensive investigation to uncover the full details of the incident.
