The district has seen the establishment of a new medical college, which is set to be complemented by an upcoming university. The medical college has been named after freedom fighter Ram Prasad Bismil and features world-class infrastructure and facilities. It includes a state-of-the-art laboratory, attracting students from across the state and country who are pursuing their MBBS degrees there.

University Recognition and Connectivity

Swami Shukdevanand College will now be officially recognised as a university, marking a significant upgrade in the district's higher education landscape. Additionally, improved connectivity with the Ganga Expressway has opened new avenues for investments, facilitating economic growth and development.

An industrial corridor is currently under development in Shahjahanpur, with existing industries like a cement factory and sugar mills providing employment to thousands of local youth. The revival of the traditional cottage industry of zari ardozi under the One District, One Product scheme has given a new lease of life to local artisans, preserving cultural heritage while boosting the local economy.
