CM Siddaramaiah Warns Officials: Stop Making People Run Between Offices
Siddaramaiah warns officials against public harassment

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah issued a strong warning to government officials on Friday, demanding an immediate end to practices that force common people to run between different offices for basic services.

Citizens Traveling Long Distances for Basic Work

The Chief Minister expressed his frustration during a meeting with officials, revealing that many residents from Mysuru regularly travel to Bengaluru seeking his direct intervention for resolving their issues. He specifically highlighted that the majority of these cases involve problems with the Revenue Department.

"If their work is done here, why would they travel all the way to Bengaluru?" Siddaramaiah questioned officials during the meeting held on November 10, 2025. His comments came after numerous complaints from citizens who have been making exhausting trips between government offices to get their work completed.

Revenue Department Under Scanner

The Chief Minister specifically called out the Revenue Department, which handles critical public services including:

  • Land records and property documentation
  • Certificate issuance for various purposes
  • Revenue-related approvals and clearances
  • Other essential public services

Siddaramaiah emphasized that officials must ensure prompt resolution of public grievances at the local level itself, eliminating the need for citizens to approach higher authorities or travel long distances.

Call for Efficient Governance

The Chief Minister's stern message underscores his administration's commitment to making governance more accessible and citizen-friendly. He made it clear that government machinery exists to serve the public efficiently, not to create additional hurdles for them.

This warning comes as part of the government's broader efforts to streamline administrative processes and reduce unnecessary bureaucratic delays that often plague public service delivery systems.

The Chief Minister's office has indicated that strict action will be taken against officials who continue to ignore these directives and fail to provide timely services to citizens approaching them with genuine concerns.
