DMK Chief M K Stalin Launches Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Campaign
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader M K Stalin officially commenced his campaign for the April 23 Assembly elections on Tuesday, starting from Tiruvarur. In his rally, he delivered sharp criticisms against the AIADMK and the BJP-led NDA alliance, positioning the upcoming polls as a direct contest between the state government and the central administration.
Stalin's Strong Accusations Against Political Rivals
While introducing candidates from the DMK and its allied parties, Stalin alleged that the primary objective of the NDA alliance is to hinder Tamil Nadu's developmental progress. According to reports from PTI, he stated, "This is the purpose of the NDA alliance. The BJP, which leads the NDA, has bought the AIADMK because they do not have the strength to oppose us in Tamil Nadu." He further escalated his attack by emphasizing, "NDA is in TN to lose, the Assembly polls is a fight between Tamil Nadu and Delhi-NDA."
Criticism of AIADMK Leadership and Allegations of Intimidation
Stalin also targeted AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami, accusing him of lacking a clear vision for the state. He claimed that the BJP has reduced the AIADMK to what he described as a "slave alliance" by intimidating its leadership. These remarks underscore the intense political rivalry as the election date approaches.
Post-Rally Engagement with the Public
Following his address at the rally, Stalin took to the streets of Tiruvarur, walking through various neighborhoods to interact directly with residents. He engaged with the public, seeking their support and listening to their concerns ahead of the crucial Assembly elections. This grassroots approach highlights his campaign strategy to connect with voters on a personal level.
The launch event sets the stage for a highly competitive election season in Tamil Nadu, with key issues of state autonomy and development at the forefront of political discourse.
