Tamil Nadu Leaders Cast Votes in Statewide Polling
Prominent political figures across Tamil Nadu exercised their democratic right by casting votes at their respective polling booths on election day. Chief Minister M K Stalin, along with Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and family members, voted at SIET College in Chennai. They patiently stood in a queue before casting their ballots. Speaking to reporters after voting, Stalin emphasized the importance of civic participation, urging all eligible citizens to come out and vote. "Tamil Nadu will win," he declared confidently.
Opposition Leaders Express Confidence in Victory
Edappadi K Palaniswami, leader of the AIADMK, cast his vote in Siluvampalayam within Salem district. He told reporters he was "100% confident" that his party would secure victory and form the government in 2026. Similarly, PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss voted in T Nagar with his family, expressing strong belief in the NDA alliance's success. "This is the day of freedom for women, freedom for youth from drugs, and freedom for poor people from the clutches of corruption. People are angry at DMK, and our alliance will register a mega victory," Anbumani stated.
Celebrity and Political Figures Participate
TVK president and popular actor C Joseph Vijay cast his vote in Neelankarai, arriving by car this time, unlike in previous elections. Seeman, chief coordinator of NTK, also voted in Neelankarai with his family, but he criticized the state government for a shortage of buses, claiming it hindered many from traveling to their native places to vote. Former Union finance minister P Chidambaram exercised his franchise in Karaikudi, predicting that the DMK-led secular progressive alliance would retain power. "People will choose steady growth, secular politics, and welfare over others," he asserted.
Electoral Officials and Other Leaders Vote
Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik cast her vote at a special booth at TAISHA in Virugambakkam, ensuring the electoral process ran smoothly. Additionally, DMDK treasurer Premallatha Vijayakant and youth wing secretary Vijaya Prabhakar voted in Saligramam, contributing to the high voter turnout across the state. The day saw a diverse range of political voices actively participating in the democratic exercise, highlighting the significance of the elections for Tamil Nadu's future governance.
