The announcements were made by TMC leader G K Vasan, IJK leader T R Paarivendhar, and Puratchi Bharatham leader Poovai Jaganmurthy, marking a crucial step in the alliance's electoral strategy.
TMC Announces Five Candidates Under BJP Symbol
G K Vasan, the leader of the Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC), revealed the names of five candidates who will contest under the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) 'lotus' symbol. The candidates include former MLA 'Vidiyal' S Sekar for the Oddanchatram constituency, M Yuvaraja for Erode West, V M Karthikeyan for Ranipet, J Nivin Simon for Killiyur, and M R K Ashok Kumar for Kumbakonam.
Vasan acknowledged that the party did not secure all the constituencies it had sought, stating, "We did not get the constituencies we sought. There is nothing wrong in admitting that." Following the candidate announcements, he also released the TMC's manifesto for the upcoming polls, outlining the party's vision and promises for the electorate.
IJK and Puratchi Bharatham Candidates Under AIADMK Symbol
IJK leader T R Paarivendhar announced two candidates for the alliance: advocate Venkatesan for Pallavaram and Sarayana Anbazhagan for Kunnam. Both candidates will contest under the AIADMK's 'two leaves' symbol, reinforcing the alliance's cohesive approach.
Similarly, Puratchi Bharatham leader Poovai Jaganmurthy declared himself as the party's candidate from the Kilvaithinankuppam reserved constituency. Jaganmurthy will also contest under the AIADMK's symbol, a strategy he employed in the previous assembly election, indicating continuity in his political approach.
Puthiya Neethi Katchi Secures Two Seats
In a related development, Puthiya Neethi Katchi leader A C Shanmugam confirmed that his party has been allocated two seats within the NDA alliance. Shanmugam stated, "We will field one candidate under AIADMK's symbol and another under BJP's. As of now, Madurai Central constituency has been confirmed." This arrangement highlights the flexible symbol-sharing mechanism within the alliance, aimed at maximizing electoral gains.
