Telangana Chief Minister Commits to Transforming Farmers into 'Kings' with Comprehensive Support
In a significant declaration aimed at bolstering the agricultural sector, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has reaffirmed the state government's unwavering commitment to the welfare of the farming community. Speaking during the 'Sri Parabhava Nama' Ugadi celebrations in Hyderabad, Reddy emphasized that the new Telugu year is being dedicated entirely to enhancing the lives of farmers, with the ambitious goal of making agriculture a lucrative profession and elevating farmers to the status of 'kings'.
Financial Relief and Support Measures Announced
The Chief Minister outlined a series of proactive steps designed to provide immediate and long-term relief to farmers across Telangana. Rythu Bharosa funds are scheduled to be released and directly deposited into farmers' accounts on March 22, offering crucial financial assistance. Reddy highlighted that the government has already allocated a substantial Rs 18,000 crore towards the Rythu Bharosa scheme, underscoring its priority on agricultural support.
In a move to alleviate the burden of debt, the state administration has waived farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh, providing significant relief to struggling farmers. Reddy proudly noted that Telangana currently boasts the lowest debt burden on farmers among all states in India, a testament to the government's focused efforts. With nearly 70% of families in the state dependent on agriculture, these initiatives are poised to impact a vast majority of the population.
Innovative Solutions for Land Ownership and Agricultural Advancement
Addressing persistent issues related to land ownership, the Chief Minister introduced the Bhu Bharati portal, a new digital platform aimed at resolving disputes and streamlining processes. This portal replaces the previous Dharani system, which had been criticized for creating numerous problems for farmers in securing their land rights. By implementing this technological solution, the government seeks to ensure transparency and efficiency in land management.
Reddy articulated a broader vision of positioning Telangana as a frontrunner in agricultural innovation and productivity nationwide. The administration is actively working to transform farming into a profitable occupation, thereby encouraging more individuals to pursue agriculture as a sustainable career. This strategic focus aligns with the goal of fostering economic growth and stability in rural areas.
Vigilance Against Natural Calamities and Future Outlook
Recognizing the increasing threats posed by natural disasters, the Chief Minister assured that the government remains constantly vigilant and prepared to mitigate such risks. On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, Reddy extended his prayers for the prosperity and peace of the people of Telangana, hoping for protection from natural calamities and a flourishing agricultural season ahead.
Through these comprehensive measures—ranging from financial aid and debt relief to technological upgrades and disaster preparedness—the Telangana government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is steadfastly working to empower farmers and reinforce agriculture as a cornerstone of the state's economy. This dedicated approach marks a pivotal step towards realizing the vision of farmers as 'kings' in their own right.
