Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday affirmed that the Congress government respects and treats Hindus, Muslims, and all religions equally. He sought the cooperation of all to ensure that genuine voters' names are not deleted in Telangana as part of the Special Summary Revision (SIR), citing such deletions in some other states.
Support for Haj Pilgrims
Revanth reiterated that the state government will bear the additional financial burden faced by Haj pilgrims from Telangana due to increased air fares following the war situation in West Asia. The Chief Minister flagged off buses carrying Haj pilgrims to the airport at the Haj House in Nampally. Minorities Welfare Minister Mohd Azharuddin, AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Government Advisor Mohd Ali Shabbir, and Minorities Residential Educational Institutions President Faheem Qureshi were among those present.
Welfare Initiatives for Minorities
Stating that the Congress government is ensuring minorities receive their rightful share in welfare schemes, employment opportunities, and development initiatives, Revanth said that Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia was paid to the families of each person who died in the bus accident in Saudi Arabia. He added, "Many from the minority community in Hyderabad earn their livelihood by driving auto-rickshaws. The government decided to provide free retrofitting services to all autos operating within the Outer Ring Road, thereby converting them into EVs. This initiative will result in significant cost savings for auto-rickshaw drivers and help in reducing pollution too."
Educational Development
At a review meeting in the Secretariat, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that special degree colleges for minorities will be established in all combined district headquarters. This move aims to enhance educational opportunities for minority communities across Telangana.
