The Telangana state government on Wednesday issued orders approving the appointment of chairpersons and vice-chairpersons to 17 caste and cooperative corporations and federations. Their tenure has been fixed at two years from the date of assuming charge.
This marks the first time these nominated posts to various caste and other corporations have been filled since the Congress government came to power.
The appointments span multiple corporations representing various communities and sectors. Baswaraju Srinivas has been appointed as the chairman and Ponneda Subrahmanya Prasad as the vice-chairman of the Brahmin Samkshema Parishad.
Similarly, Dasara Ajay Kumar was named chairman and Bangaru Babu vice-chairman of the Washermen Cooperative Corporation. Motukuri Chandrashekar Goud was appointed chairman and Kesam Nagaraju Goud vice-chairman of the Toddy Tappers' Cooperative Corporation.
The government appointed Bomma Sriram as chairman and Alam Bhaskar vice-chairman of the Munnurukapu Cooperative Corporation. M Raghunath Yadav will serve as chairman and G Bhaskar Yadav as vice-chairman of the Yadava Cooperative Corporation. Gunja Renuka Narayana was named chairman and Battula Venkatesh as vice-chairman of the Vaddera Cooperative Corporation.
The state government issued GO (Ms No. 602) naming Sudini Rami Reddy as chairman and Krishna Kumar Naguluri and Boosa Venu Gopal Yadav as members of the Telangana Grama Panchayat Tribunal. Dudem Venkat Ramana has been named chairman and Jakkani Aneetha vice-chairman of the Telangana Handloom Development Corporation Limited. Bandi Ramesh has been appointed chairman and Paruchuri Maraiah vice-chairman of the Kamma Corporation.
Likewise, chairpersons and vice-chairpersons were appointed for the Telangana Telugu Akademi, Telangana Livestock Development Agency, Telangana Sheep and Goat Development Co-operative Federation Limited, Velama Corporation, Telangana Bhattaraja Cooperative Societies, and Padmashali Cooperative Corporation Limited.
