Rescue Efforts and Recovery Operation

Villagers quickly gathered at the site and launched an initial search operation. However, they were unable to locate the missing boys due to the pond's depth and lack of proper equipment.

A team from Nai Sarai police station reached the spot and called in the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for assistance. The SDRF personnel conducted a thorough search and recovered the bodies from the pond after several hours of operation.

Profiles of the Deceased Teenagers

The three victims have been identified as:

  • Mayank Raghuvanshi (16), son of Awadhesh Raghuvanshi. Mayank was a Class 9 student who studied in Guna and had returned home after completing his examinations.
  • Dev Raghuvanshi (16), son of Rakesh Raghuvanshi. Dev studied in Class 8 at Nai Sarai and commuted daily to school. He was the only brother to three sisters in his family.
  • Om Raghuvanshi (15), son of Satish Raghuvanshi. Om was also a Class 8 student who studied in Guna and had recently returned to the village.

All three boys were residents of Ajleshwar village and, tragically, were the only sons in their respective families. The community has been left devastated by this sudden loss of young lives.

The incident highlights the dangers of swimming in unsupervised water bodies, particularly during the summer months when such activities become more common. Local authorities have emphasized the need for increased awareness about water safety measures in rural areas.
