The Indore Crime Branch, in a joint operation with Vijay Nagar police, arrested three members of an inter-state vehicle theft gang, all aged 18. The arrests led to the recovery of nine stolen two-wheelers valued at several lakh rupees.
How the Arrests Were Made
According to police, they received a tip-off about a group of youths roaming suspiciously near Meghdoot Garden and Vijay Nagar on motorcycles without registration plates. The suspects were allegedly trying to sell the vehicles at extremely low prices. Acting on this information, a joint police team laid a trap and apprehended three individuals: Mohit Verma from Pardeshipura, Vishesh Kori from Patel Colony, and Nishant Sunhare from Sharda Nagar.
Confession and Recovery
During interrogation, the accused could not produce valid ownership documents for the motorcycles. They confessed to stealing the vehicles from various locations, including Vijay Nagar, Pardeshipura, Kanadia, Sanwer, and Dewas Naka, on different days. Police recovered nine stolen motorcycles from their possession.
The operation highlights the effectiveness of coordinated police efforts in curbing vehicle theft in the region. Further investigations are underway to trace any additional accomplices or stolen property.
