The most notable incident took place in Baruipur, where photographs of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and party chairperson Mamata Banerjee were thrown onto the ground. Party workers reported that unidentified individuals entered the office premises, damaged furniture, and scattered campaign materials before fleeing. Similar attacks were reported in at least five other locations, including areas in Nadia, Murshidabad, and Cooch Behar districts.
TMC's Response
TMC leaders have condemned the attacks, calling them a deliberate attempt to disrupt the electoral process. Senior party members alleged that the BJP is trying to create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation ahead of the elections. They have demanded a thorough investigation and immediate action against the perpetrators. Abhishek Banerjee stated, "These cowardly acts will not deter us. We will continue to fight for the people of Bengal."
BJP Denies Allegations
The BJP, on the other hand, has rejected the accusations as baseless. Party spokesperson Amit Malviya said, "The TMC is trying to divert attention from its own failures by making false allegations. We believe in democratic processes and condemn any form of violence." The BJP has called for a neutral inquiry to ascertain the facts behind the incidents.
