The Pimpri Chinchwad police traffic department has implemented significant traffic restrictions in Alandi on Monday to accommodate a political rally for the upcoming municipal council elections. The diversion will remain in effect for 12 hours from 8 am to 8 pm, affecting multiple key routes in the area.
Complete Route Changes and Restrictions
Under the new traffic arrangement, vehicles are completely prohibited from entering Alandi from Dehu Phata Chowk. Commuters traveling from Pune who reach Dehu Phata Chowk must take a left turn to continue toward their destinations. Similarly, vehicles approaching from Bharatmata Chowk will be required to take a right turn at Dehu Phata Chowk to access their intended routes.
Another major closure affects the entry point into Alandi from Chakan via Indrayani Hospital, which has been completely blocked. Traffic intending to use this route will instead be redirected via the alternative path of Chimbali Phata.
Alternative Routes for Commuters
The police have also restricted entry for vehicles heading toward Vadgaon Ghenand, Chakan, and Pune via PCS Chowk and Markal. Affected commuters can reach their destinations using the 40ft road or via PCS Chowk, Dabhade Sarkar Chowk, and Charholi Phata.
Authorities have strongly advised all commuters to plan their journeys in advance and use the suggested alternate routes to avoid significant traffic congestion in Alandi during the election rally period. The measures are designed to ensure the smooth flow of both the political event and regular vehicular movement.
Important Commuter Advisory
The traffic police emphasize that these restrictions are essential for managing the expected large gathering for the municipal council elections rally. Commuters traveling through Alandi between 8 am and 8 pm on Monday should expect delays and are encouraged to factor in additional travel time or reconsider their routes entirely.
Local authorities will be stationed at key points to assist drivers with navigation and ensure compliance with the diversion plan. The comprehensive traffic management strategy aims to minimize inconvenience while facilitating the democratic process of election campaigning.
