In a dramatic turn of events in Tamil Nadu politics, AMMK Party General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran has alleged that a letter purportedly written by his MLA Kamaraj in support of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is a forgery. Speaking to the media, Dhinakaran said, 'A letter was issued in support of TVK by my MLA Kamaraj. We are all shocked. I got an appointment with the Governor and I showed the real letter that I got from our CM candidate Edappadi Palaniswami.'
Dhinakaran's Allegations
Dhinakaran expressed shock over the development, asserting that the letter circulating in TVK's name was not genuine. He claimed to have presented the authentic letter to the Governor, which was from Edappadi Palaniswami, the AIADMK's chief ministerial candidate. The AMMK leader did not provide further details on the content of the original letter but emphasized that it contradicted the one released by TVK.
TVK's Counterclaim
In response, TVK shared a video of AMMK MLA Kamaraj, claiming it shows him 'voluntarily and happily writing a letter expressing his support for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.' The video was released by TVK on social media, with a statement that Kamaraj had extended his support to the party. TVK has not yet commented on Dhinakaran's forgery allegations.
Political Implications
This incident has added fuel to the already heated political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu, with parties gearing up for the upcoming elections. The AMMK and TVK are both significant players, and the dispute over the letter could impact alliances and voter perceptions. Dhinakaran's decision to approach the Governor indicates that he is seeking official intervention to clarify the matter.
As the controversy unfolds, both sides are expected to present more evidence to support their claims. The coming days will likely see further statements from the involved parties, and possibly legal action if the forgery allegations are pursued.
