The newly inaugurated Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow is gearing up for its first major public event, as it prepares to host the Uttar Pradesh Day celebrations from January 24 to 26. This marks the maiden event at the site since its inauguration.
Statewide and Global Celebrations
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that the Uttar Pradesh Day festivities will not be confined to Lucknow alone. The event will be organized simultaneously in all districts of UP, other Indian states, and in countries with a significant Uttar Pradesh diaspora population. This move aims to connect with people from the state living across India and the world.
While reviewing preparations, the CM issued detailed instructions to officials. He emphasized that the celebrations should include theatrical presentations highlighting the lives and contributions of key figures like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Presentations on Vande Mataram and Anand Math are also planned.
Cultural Programs and Honoring Achievers
A major focus will be on showcasing local talent. Cultural programs and competitions will be held at the block, city, and district levels on January 25. Artists securing the top three positions at these levels will get a chance to compete at the divisional level. Winners from the divisional competitions will earn the prestigious opportunity to perform at the main ceremony in Lucknow.
CM Adityanath stated that the program must honor a wide array of achievers. The list includes:
- Entrepreneurs recognized under schemes like UP Gaurav Samman, ODOP (One District One Product), Vishwakarma Shram Samman, and the Mati Kala Board.
- Winners of sports competitions.
- Women doing exemplary work.
- Doctors, progressive farmers, and scientists.
He stressed that local artists, poets, and performers should be given a platform in district-level programs, and public representatives should be invited in every district.
Collaboration and Showcasing UP's Heritage
To ensure cultural authenticity and high artistic standards, the programs will be organized in coordination with premier institutions like Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Lalit Kala Akademi. The CM specifically emphasized the use of traditional musical instruments by performing artists.
The celebrations will also serve as a showcase for Uttar Pradesh's economic and cultural products. ODOP goods and all GI-tagged products from the state will be prominently displayed during the UP Day events.
Furthermore, the state government plans to honor people from Uttar Pradesh who are excelling in fields such as entrepreneurship, business, innovation, education, art, science, and administration across the country. Dignitaries including Governors, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, and people associated with Uttar Pradesh will be invited as guests.
In the same review meeting, Chief Minister Adityanath also took stock of preparations for the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, starting January 2. He directed officials to ensure robust arrangements for security, cleanliness, and healthcare for the millions of expected devotees.
The CM also issued a broader directive to all officers, instructing them to hold regular public hearings. Commissioners and District Magistrates were told to regularly review revenue-related matters to ensure efficient governance.
