In a decisive administrative move, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a high-powered committee to thoroughly investigate the recent labour unrest that has affected Noida over the past week. This initiative underscores the state government's commitment to maintaining industrial peace and ensuring the smooth operation of one of its key economic zones.

Committee Composition and Mandate

The committee, which made its first official visit to Noida on Monday, is chaired by the Industrial Development Commissioner. Its membership includes senior officials such as the Additional Chief Secretary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the Principal Secretary for Labour and Employment. The Labour Commissioner has been appointed as the Member Secretary, ensuring dedicated oversight of the proceedings.

To guarantee balanced representation and comprehensive stakeholder input, the committee also incorporates five representatives from various labour organizations and three representatives from industry associations. Objectives and Immediate Actions

The primary mandate of the committee is to engage directly with all relevant stakeholders, identify the root causes of the recent unrest, and propose actionable solutions to restore and sustain industrial harmony. A government spokesperson confirmed that the committee is expected to submit its findings and recommendations to the state government at the earliest possible opportunity.

Uttar Pradesh Industries Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating that the committee has been instructed to examine the issue on a priority basis. He highlighted that this reflects the state's proactive approach to resolving industrial tensions through coordinated administrative intervention and inclusive stakeholder engagement.

Scope of Investigation and Expected Outcomes

The committee is scheduled to convene imminently to discuss all facets of the problem. Its agenda will include a comprehensive review of labour conditions, potential wage revision considerations if deemed necessary, and other factors contributing to the unrest. Minister Nandi assured that the committee's efforts will be directed towards securing an amicable solution that safeguards the best interests of all parties involved—workers, industry representatives, and the broader economic environment of Noida.

This structured intervention by the Uttar Pradesh government aims to not only address the immediate grievances but also to establish a framework for preventing future disruptions, thereby reinforcing Noida's status as a stable and attractive hub for industrial and commercial activities.
