Key Issues Facing the Constituency
The Vasudevanallur region grapples with several developmental challenges that affect its predominantly Scheduled Caste population. Chronic irrigation shortages remain a pressing concern, as the area relies heavily on the Tamiraparani River for agricultural water needs. Inadequate rural road connectivity and unreliable electricity supply hinder daily life and economic activities. The constituency also suffers from insufficient healthcare facilities and a lack of quality educational institutions. High youth unemployment is another critical issue, with many young residents seeking job opportunities. There are growing demands for the establishment of agro-based industries to boost local employment and economic development in this underdeveloped region.
