A shocking incident of child abandonment has come to light in Maharashtra, where a woman allegedly fled with her lover, leaving her two young children on a bus with only their grandfather's contact information. The incident occurred on Sunday when the woman, a resident of Yavatmal, boarded a Tuljapur-Sambhajinagar state transport bus along with her two children.

According to police reports, the woman boarded the bus with her children, aged around 5 and 7 years. During the journey, she allegedly alighted from the bus with her paramour at an unknown location, leaving the children behind. The bus driver and conductor noticed the children alone after some time and found a piece of paper with their grandfather's phone number. They immediately contacted the grandfather, who arrived at the bus station to take custody of the children.

The Beed police have registered a case against the woman under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including abandonment of a child. Authorities are investigating the whereabouts of the woman and her paramour. The children have been handed over to their grandfather, who has been advised to provide proper care. Police are also probing whether the woman acted under duress or voluntarily.
