Lucknow: Extending his best wishes to newly appointed Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday expressed confidence that under the latter's leadership, the pledge of 'Sonar Bangla' will be realised, and the state will enter an 'Amrit Kaal' (Golden Era) of cultural, spiritual, and economic resurgence.
The chief minister posted on his X account: "It is my prayer to Maa Kali that your tenure becomes a golden chapter marked by the fulfilment of the aspirations of every single citizen of Bengal and the restoration of democratic values."
Extending his wishes to other ministers of the Adhikari cabinet, Yogi wrote: "Heartfelt congratulations to all the honourable members who took the oath as ministers in West Bengal. I have full faith that, by prioritising public service above all else, you will all restore the glory of 'Sonar Bangla'."
Yogi also presented a saffron 'angavastra' (ceremonial stole) to Adhikari on the dais. He congratulated Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Khudiram Tudu, and Nisith Pramanik, who took the oath as ministers.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, Adhikari met the Prime Minister, Union ministers, and chief ministers present on the dais, expressing his gratitude to everyone.
Earlier, during the election campaign, Adhikari had welcomed Yogi at a public rally by draping a saffron stole around him and later paid his respects by bowing at the chief minister's feet.
