CM Yogi Adityanath to Launch Major Development Projects in Lakhimpur Kheri
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Lakhimpur Kheri district on Saturday, where he will address public gatherings and inaugurate a significant array of development initiatives. The visit underscores the state government's focus on infrastructure growth and social welfare in the region.
Massive Investment in Development Projects
During his tour, the Chief Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a total of 538 projects with a combined value of Rs 1,311 crore. This includes the inauguration of 345 projects worth Rs 356 crore and the foundation laying for 193 projects valued at Rs 955 crore. These initiatives are set to impact seven Assembly constituencies: Lakhimpur, Gola Gokarnnath, Srinagar, Palia, Nighasan, Mohammadi, and Dhaurahra.
Public Meetings and Beneficiary Distribution
CM Adityanath will first address a public meeting in Palia's Chandan Chowki, where he will distribute land ownership documents to families of the Tharu tribe. Additionally, he will hand over cheques and keys to houses constructed under various government schemes to eligible beneficiaries.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister will proceed to Miyanpur in Mohammadi, where he will provide land ownership documents to displaced families. Beneficiaries will receive cheques and house keys under the CM Awas Yojana-Rural, furthering the government's commitment to housing for all.
Land Rights and Rehabilitation Initiatives
A key highlight of the visit is the granting of full land ownership rights to 4,356 Tharu families across 34 villages in Palia, covering 5,338 hectares of land. These families, who were granted land usage rights in 1976, will now receive complete ownership, marking a significant step toward their economic empowerment.
Under the Upnivesh Yojana, 2,350 families affected by river erosion and settled in 12 colonies will be allotted 4,251 hectares of land. This group includes 1,077 families from Scheduled Castes and 874 families from Other Backward Classes, ensuring inclusive development.
Rehabilitation of Displaced Families
In a move toward social justice, 331 Hindu families displaced from East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, have been rehabilitated in Lakhimpur Kheri. Settled across tehsils such as Dhaurahra, Mohammadi, and Gola, these families are now being provided with agricultural land to support their livelihoods.
Specifically, in Miyanpur, 156 families have received approximately 4.75 acres of land per family, while in other villages, allotments range from 3 to 7 acres per family. This land distribution is complemented by access to government welfare schemes, including ration, health services, education, roads, and employment opportunities.
Integrated Model of Development
An official statement emphasized that the Chief Minister's visit highlights an integrated model of development, rehabilitation, and social justice. By providing land ownership rights, housing, employment, and basic facilities, the government aims to connect every section of society to the mainstream, prioritizing inclusive growth alongside infrastructure development.
This comprehensive approach reflects the state administration's dedication to uplifting marginalized communities and fostering sustainable progress in Uttar Pradesh.
