CM Yogi Adityanath Directs Officials to Accelerate Land Acquisition for Expressways
In a significant move to bolster infrastructure development, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday issued directives to officials to expedite the land acquisition process for several sanctioned expressways across the state. During a comprehensive review meeting focused on big-ticket infrastructure initiatives, the Chief Minister emphasized the critical need for accelerating these projects to enhance connectivity and economic growth.
Focus on Key Expressway Projects
Chief Minister Adityanath specifically discussed the progress of multiple link expressways, including the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, Farrukhabad Link Expressway, Agra-Lucknow to Purvanchal Link Expressway, Jhansi Link Expressway, and Jewar Link Expressway. He instructed the concerned district magistrates to prioritize and fast-track the land purchase procedures for these vital corridors, ensuring that any obstacles are removed promptly to avoid delays.
Yogi Adityanath highlighted that extending and strengthening the expressway network would significantly promote investment, stimulate industrial activities, and foster balanced regional development throughout Uttar Pradesh. This strategic approach aims to transform the state's transportation infrastructure, making it more efficient and conducive to business expansion.
Updates on Major Infrastructure Developments
Officials provided updates on several key projects during the meeting. They reported that the main carriageway of the Ganga Expressway is now complete, marking a major milestone. Additionally, a dedicated team has been deputed to finalize the detailed project report for the link expressway planned to connect the Ganga Expressway to Haridwar, further enhancing regional connectivity.
Regarding the Noida International Airport in Jewar, officials confirmed that the airport recently received its provisional aerodrome licence. Land acquisition and other development works are progressing rapidly, positioning the project as a cornerstone for future economic growth in the region.
Review of Additional Projects and Initiatives
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the multi-modal logistics and multi-modal transport hub being developed in Greater Noida. He directed officials to ensure that land acquisition and construction works are completed within the stipulated timelines to maintain project momentum.
Other projects discussed included:
- The Chilla elevated flyover in Noida, for which Yogi Adityanath sought the latest updates.
- Irrigation department works, with a focus on the status of the Erach project in Bundelkhand.
- Thermal projects in the Rihand and Obra areas of Sonbhadra, highlighting energy infrastructure development.
- Priority works such as the upcoming exhibition centre in Vrindavan Yojana in Lucknow, the 300-bed cancer hospital, and the Night Safari in Kukrail.
Emphasis on Economic and Social Development
Beyond infrastructure, the Chief Minister sought details on industrial activity in Bundelkhand and road-widening projects around the Nepal border, underscoring a holistic approach to development. He also inquired about villages taken up under the zero-poverty scheme and the disbursement of funds to eligible youths under the CM Udyami Scheme.
Yogi Adityanath directed various departments to organize skill training programmes and loan fairs to support young entrepreneurs who are setting examples by running their own businesses. This initiative aims to empower the youth and foster a culture of entrepreneurship across the state, aligning with broader economic goals.
The meeting concluded with a reinforced commitment to accelerating infrastructure projects, with a clear focus on timely execution and overcoming bureaucratic hurdles to drive Uttar Pradesh's growth trajectory forward.
