Tragic Road Accident Claims Life of Youth in Thiruvananthapuram
A devastating road accident resulted in the death of a 29-year-old youth in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on Sunday night. The incident occurred at Kallambalam, highlighting the dangers of speeding and reckless driving on local roads.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to police reports, the accident took place around 10:15 PM on the Kilimanoor–Madavoor road. A car, reportedly traveling at high speed, lost control while negotiating a curve. It first crashed into an electric post before veering into a motorcycle carrying two individuals.
The impact was severe, causing the motorcycle to become trapped under the car, which then plunged down a slope. The deceased has been identified as Nithin B A of Navaikulam, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle. He sustained critical injuries in the collision and succumbed soon after the incident.
Injuries and Aftermath
The bike rider, Ananthu Vikraman (29) of Kizhakkanela, suffered injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in Venjaramoodu for treatment. Two youths traveling in the car, natives of Panappamkunnu, sustained minor injuries. They were also taken to the same hospital, where they received first aid before being discharged.
However, locals have alleged that two other occupants in the car fled the scene immediately after the accident, raising concerns about hit-and-run behavior. Police have not confirmed these allegations but are investigating the full circumstances.
Police Investigation Underway
Pallickal police have registered a case in connection with the accident and have initiated a thorough probe. Authorities are examining factors such as speeding, road conditions, and potential negligence to determine the cause and assign responsibility.
