Audi Confirms Revolut F1 Team Name, 2026 Debut Plan

German automotive giant Audi has moved significantly closer to its grand entry into Formula One, officially announcing the name of its factory team and laying out a clear timeline for its debut in the 2026 championship season.

The Official Identity: Audi Revolut F1 Team

The squad will be known as the Audi Revolut F1 Team, cementing a major title partnership with the global financial technology company Revolut. This partnership, first confirmed in July 2025, is described as central to the team's identity. It goes beyond mere branding, with Revolut's services being integrated into core operations. Revolut Business will handle financial processes, while Revolut Pay will be the payment method for the team's official merchandise store. Fans can also anticipate special digital experiences and app-based rewards stemming from this collaboration.

The team's full global unveiling is scheduled for January 20, 2026, in Berlin. This event will mark the first comprehensive presentation of the team's identity to the world. In a fan-friendly move, the venue will open to the public on the following day, January 21, allowing enthusiasts to see the new team's branding up close.

Leadership, Drivers, and Technical Powerhouse

Audi has assembled a strong leadership and driving lineup for its ambitious project. The team will be led by former Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto and experienced figure Jonathan Wheatley. Behind the wheel, the confirmed driver pairing consists of seasoned German racer Nico Hulkenberg and promising talent Gabriel Bortoleto.

On the technical front, development of Audi's F1 power unit has been underway in Germany since 2022. The engine is a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 hybrid, developed in collaboration with bp. It is designed to run on sustainable fuels and will feature a tripled electric motor output, fully complying with the new 2026 F1 technical regulations.

Roadmap to the 2026 Grid Debut

Following the Berlin launch, the team will immediately commence its on-track preparations. Initial testing is planned for Barcelona later in January 2026. This will be followed by the official pre-season tests in Bahrain, split into two sessions: February 11–13 and February 18–20.

The Audi Revolut F1 Team's competitive racing debut is then set for the opening round of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship. The team will first hit the grid at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, scheduled for March 6–8, 2026. A key visual highlight of the January launch will be the revelation of the complete 2026 race livery, building upon the Audi R26 Concept car shown in November 2025.
