The vibrant city of Jaipur is set to host the sixth edition of the prestigious CII–AU Invitation Golf Cup at the iconic Rambagh Golf Club on January 24. This annual tournament promises to be a grand affair, attracting participation from more than 100 golfers representing diverse backgrounds.

Distinguished Participants and Corporate Engagement

The event will see notable figures from various sectors teeing off, including General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Army Command, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh; General Manager of North Western Railway, Amitabh; and Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Avadhesh Kumar. They will be joined by several bureaucrats, sportspersons, and industry members, highlighting the tournament's role in bridging the corporate and sports worlds.

Inclusive Format and Exciting Categories

Former chairman of CII Rajasthan, Gaurav Rungta, announced during a press conference at the Rambagh Golf Club that approximately 12 women golfers will participate, emphasizing inclusivity. This year, the tournament will adopt the Stableford format across multiple handicap categories, such as men, women, veterans, and players aged 60 and above.

To enhance the excitement, additional categories have been introduced, including closest to the pin after two shots on a par 4, drive closest to the CII marker on holes like the 9th, landing in the CII zone on a par 3, and a Monster putt on hole 2, among others.

Promoting Health and Social Responsibility

Vice Chairman of the CII Rajasthan State Council, Rajneesh Bhandari, outlined the Confederation of Indian Industry's initiatives, noting that the Cup aims to foster a healthy and fit lifestyle while uniting sports and corporate spheres. As part of CII's corporate social responsibility efforts, CII and AU Bank will distribute lunch boxes to all 175 caddies, supporting the local community.

Leadership Perspectives on Sports and Development

Saurabh Tambi, President of AU Small Finance Bank, emphasized that sports extend beyond co-curricular activities, playing a crucial role in instilling discipline, teamwork, and positive life changes. He stressed that supporting such initiatives is a collective responsibility for societal betterment.

Samridh Sharma, Honorary Secretary of the Rambagh Golf Club, expressed delight over the collaboration with CII, highlighting sports' significance in human development and as a catalyst for positive change. He reaffirmed the club's commitment to nurturing emerging talent and mentioned ongoing efforts to establish a Junior Golf Academy.

The event was also attended by Senior Director and Head of CII Rajasthan, Nitin Gupta, and former Chairman of CII Rajasthan, Vishal Baid, underscoring the widespread support for this corporate-sports synergy.
