Lucas Di Grassi Optimistic About Lola Yamaha ABT's Progress in Formula E Season 12
Di Grassi Confident Points Will Come Soon for Lola Yamaha ABT

Lucas Di Grassi is expressing optimism about Formula E Season 12 as the Lola Yamaha ABT team continues to demonstrate gradual improvement in race results. The Brazilian driver and his teammate Zane Maloney failed to score points at the recent Miami E-Prix, but Di Grassi firmly believes the squad is steadily moving in the right direction, one race at a time.

Miami E-Prix Performance and Di Grassi's Reflections

In Round 3 at the new Miami International Autodrome, Di Grassi finished in 13th position, while his teammate Zane Maloney crossed the line in 11th place. Despite the lack of championship points, the former Formula E champion took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the team's performance.

In a video posted on the platform, Di Grassi stated: "So today we had our second Miami E-Prix with the Gen 3.5. Last year we finished on the podium. This year was not our year, but there were some positives from the race. I think we did a pretty good job in the wet, coming all the way from the back to finish 13th, with Zane in 11th."

Steady Progress and Future Expectations

Di Grassi elaborated on the team's development, adding: "The car was good, the pace was good, and we had some good fights. So I'm actually motivated because the progress is there. We're improving every single weekend—the team is working together, the car is getting slightly better every time. We're making constant progress, which is important, and I'm sure the points will come sooner rather than later."

The driver also shared several glimpses from the Miami E-Prix weekend on Instagram, writing: "Thanks, Miami E-Prix. We keep pushing. Performance is getting better, results will come." This positive outlook comes despite Di Grassi having finished second at last year's Miami E-Prix, which was held at Homestead–Miami Speedway. He has previously mentioned in interviews that he preferred the previous circuit, having secured a podium finish there.

Season 12 Journey So Far

Lucas Di Grassi's Formula E run in Season 12 has been challenging. The Brazilian driver was disqualified in the season opener in Sao Paulo and finished 13th in both Round 2 in Mexico City and Round 3 in Miami. His Lola Yamaha ABT teammate Zane Maloney scored his first points of the season by finishing 10th in Sao Paulo, before placing 16th in Mexico City and 11th in Miami.

Looking Ahead to Jeddah E-Prix

The Formula E field will now turn its attention to the first doubleheader of the season in the Middle East. The Jeddah E-Prix is scheduled to take place from February 12–14, providing another opportunity for Lola Yamaha ABT to convert their steady progress into valuable championship points.
