Jaipur's Shaurya Maheshwari, 5, Wins Gold at National Roller Skating

Jaipur's young skating prodigy, Shaurya Maheshwari, secured a gold medal at the 18th All India Open Roller Skating Championship held in Shimla on Sunday. The five-year-old, a student of Jayshree Periwal School in Malviya Nagar, emerged as the champion in the professional inline category while competing in the Under-6 age group.

Tournament Overview

The championship was organized by the Amateur Roller Skating Federation of India (ARSFI) and featured racing events among skating teams representing Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, and Rajasthan. The event saw enthusiastic participation from skaters ranging from the Under-4 years category to above 16 years.

Shaurya's Achievement

Representing Jaipur with distinction, Shaurya Maheshwari brought glory to the city by bagging a gold medal in the competition. This marked his second medal at the national level, the previous one being at the 27th All India Invitational Roller Skating Championship held in Gurugram in October last year.

Early Start and Rising Talent

Shaurya started skating at the early age of just 3.5 years and went on to win double gold medals at the 11th Indo-Nepal International Skating Tournament held in June last year. This sporting event once again showcased rising young talent like Shaurya, who has set new benchmarks in the world of roller skating.
