JEE Advanced 2026: Students Find Paper Moderate, Maths Lengthy
JEE Advanced 2026: Moderate Paper, Maths Lengthy Says Students

Students who appeared for JEE Advanced 2026 on Sunday said the paper was of moderate difficulty overall, with subject-wise variation in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The exam was conducted by IIT Roorkee in two shifts across centers in the country.

Subject-Wise Difficulty Analysis

Candidates reported that Chemistry was comparatively easier, while Physics ranged from easy to moderate. Mathematics, however, was described as lengthy by several students. One student shared, "It went well. Chemistry was good, Physics was a bit tricky, and Math was also fine, but Math was lengthy. It wasn't that hard, it went well overall. If I qualify, my focus is on IIT Delhi or Roorkee, but let's see, IIT Patna will also work."

Another student described the first paper as balanced but slightly tricky in parts. "Yeah, it was okay, a moderate paper. We'll have to see about the second one, whether it's tough or easy. Physics was lenient, not too tough. Math was a little bit on the harder side, but apart from that, nothing else," the student said.

A third candidate stated that the paper was standard and manageable within the allotted time. "It was a moderate paper. It was our normal, average paper. The three-hour time was sufficient. It was enough... The arrangements were top-notch," the student added.

JEE Advanced 2026 was held in two papers on Sunday. Paper 1 was conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, while Paper 2 took place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. According to the marking scheme, candidates receive four marks for each correct answer, while one mark is deducted for every incorrect response.

JEE Advanced serves as the exclusive gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering, science, and architecture programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and other premier institutions. The exam is conducted annually by one of the seven zonal IITs, with IIT Roorkee organizing the 2026 edition.
