Myles Garrett Shifts Focus from NFL Glory to Olympic Support for Chloe Kim
As the excitement of Super Bowl 2026 week unfolds in San Francisco, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is already looking beyond the football field. Fresh off a dominant NFL season and recent accolades, Garrett's attention is turning toward Italy, where his girlfriend, Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, is preparing for the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics.
From Defensive Player of the Year to Supportive Partner
Garrett has had a whirlwind period, capped by winning the Defensive Player of the Year award at NFL Honors on February 4 and making promotional appearances for Uncrustables during Super Bowl week. However, once his football commitments conclude, his priority shifts entirely to supporting Kim in her quest for Olympic history.
"I finish up here Sunday, get back for about 12 hours, and then I hit the road and go to see her," Garrett told PEOPLE on Friday, February 6, detailing his quick turnaround to travel to Italy for the games. He emphasized that he would not miss this opportunity for anything, highlighting the importance of being present for Kim during this pivotal moment.
Chloe Kim's Historic Olympic Pursuit
Kim, 25, is set to compete in the women's snowboard halfpipe event, with qualifiers beginning on February 11 in Italy. She has already secured gold medals at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games and the 2022 Beijing Games. A victory in Milan would make her the first person in Olympic history to achieve a three-peat in the event, cementing her legacy in snowboarding.
Garrett describes their relationship as built on mutual support, noting that during the NFL season, Kim consistently checked in on him. Now, he is returning the favor as she prepares for the biggest competition of her year. "We're both just so supportive of one another," said Garrett, who is currently in San Francisco. "She's always texting, she's always calling to see how I'm doing during the year, and I'm doing the same right now, checking on her, seeing how she's feeling, emotionally and physically."
A Bond of Support and Playful Competition
Garrett sees this as a chance to reciprocate the steadfast support Kim has provided him. "I'm just trying to be her rock because throughout the year she's mine," he explained. Their connection also includes a lighthearted competitive edge, with Garrett joking about their dynamics both in sports and romance.
"It's so competitive," he said. "When we get into our sports, even when we play games against each other." He even quipped that he holds the upper hand in romance, claiming, "I'm more romantic than her."
From Rumors to Public Support
The couple first sparked dating rumors in May 2025 when they attended the Crunchyroll Anime Awards together in Japan. They confirmed their relationship in November 2025, with Kim showing her support by attending a Cleveland Browns game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
For Garrett, the offseason is not about rest; it is about standing by someone who is chasing greatness. His commitment to traveling to Italy underscores the depth of their partnership and his dedication to being there for Kim during her Olympic journey.
