Mysuru Police Gear Up for Third Annual 'Safe Mysuru' Awareness Run
The Mysuru City Police and Mysuru District Police have officially announced the third edition of the 'Safe Mysuru' run, scheduled for March 1. This community-focused event, which includes both 5km and 10km categories, is designed to mobilize public participation in combating critical social issues.
Fostering Awareness on Narcotics and Cyber Offences
The primary objective of the 'Safe Mysuru' run is to educate the public about the detrimental effects of narcotic substances and the importance of preventing cyber crimes. Through this initiative, police authorities aim to leverage community outreach to spread clear, impactful messages on drug abuse prevention and online safety.
Southern Range IGP MB Boralingaiah highlighted the event's growing popularity, noting, "This marks the third year of the Safe Mysuru initiative. Last year's edition saw approximately 9,000 participants, setting a record as the largest run of its kind in Karnataka. We are optimistic about even greater engagement this time."

For the 2025 edition, police organizers are anticipating over 5,000 runners, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity. The event actively encourages families, students, working professionals, and senior citizens to join, promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the community.
Participants will embark on specially designed routes for the 5km and 10km runs, both starting and concluding at the Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple. The 6 AM start time ensures a comfortable experience for all involved, with the familiar location adding convenience for runners and spectators alike.
