Predators' Wilsby Injured, Out vs Avalanche

Nashville Predators Face Colorado Without Injured Defenseman

The Nashville Predators will miss a key player on their blue line this Friday. Defenseman Adam Wilsby suffered a lower-body injury recently. This injury will keep him out of the road matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. He might miss additional games as well.

Injury Details Remain Unclear

Reports confirmed the injury on Thursday. Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean broke the news. He stated Wilsby is sidelined day-to-day. The team has not decided if Wilsby will travel to Denver for the game. The exact cause of the injury remains unknown.

Interestingly, Wilsby played over 21 minutes in his last game despite the injury. This was well above his season average of just under 17 minutes per game. He managed an assist in that 4-3 loss to Edmonton, ending a 10-game scoring drought.

Potential Lineup Change and Player Profile

If Wilsby cannot play, Nicolas Hague might enter the lineup. This would be a significant change for the Predators' defense.

This season marks a career high for Wilsby in games played. He has appeared in 36 games so far in the 2025-26 season. He surpassed his previous high of 23 games from the 2024-25 season. In those 36 games, he has recorded one goal and six assists.

Wilsby was a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. He played professionally in Sweden before joining the NHL. He also spent time with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals.

Impact on Playoff Race and Upcoming Schedule

The injury comes at a critical time. The Predators are fighting for a playoff spot. They currently sit fourth in the Western Conference Wild Card race with 48 points. They trail the San Jose Sharks by just one point for the final playoff position.

After facing Colorado, the team travels to play the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. Following these two road games, the Predators return home for a three-game stretch. They will host the Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators, and Utah Mammoth.

The loss of Wilsby could affect the team's defensive stability during this crucial period.
