The TTFI-2 Open State Table Tennis Championship 2025 concluded successfully in Jaipur after five days of intense competition. Players from across Rajasthan showcased their skills at the Wonkar Table Tennis Academy in Vaishali Nagar.

Singles Champions Crowned

In the men's singles final, Amit Thanvi from Sirohi emerged victorious after a dramatic seven-game battle. He defeated Akshat Sharma of Jaipur with a close 4-3 scoreline. The match kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the very last point.

Anshul Vyas from Jodhpur claimed the women's singles title with a commanding performance. She overpowered Maulisha Thanvi 4-2 in the championship match to secure her crown.

Veteran Categories Produce Multiple Winners

The veteran divisions witnessed several players dominating their age groups. Vijay Pancholi achieved a remarkable double by winning both the 39 plus and 49 plus categories. His consistent performance across two age brackets impressed everyone present.

Nirmal Choudhary also secured two titles in the senior sections. He triumphed in the 59 plus category before adding the 64 plus crown to his collection. In the 64 plus final, Choudhary defeated former international player Pramod Patni in a closely fought encounter.

Other veteran category winners included HS Alag in the 69 plus group and Mukund Modi in the 74 plus section. Ruchi Gupta stood out in the women's veteran category, taking home the top honors.

Selection Implications and Closing Ceremony

Organizers confirmed that performances in this championship will influence selection decisions for upcoming National Table Tennis Championships. This adds significant importance to the results achieved by players throughout the tournament.

The closing ceremony featured prominent former table tennis stars presenting awards to winners and runners-up. Tina Chandrima, Abhay Gupta, and Pramod Patni - all former international players - distributed trophies, certificates, and cash prizes alongside Ashok Kalla, Tappan Mukerjee, and Hema Shah.

Hema Shah, wife of the late Vijay Shah, participated in the ceremony as the veteran championship was dedicated to his memory. This emotional tribute added a special dimension to the event's conclusion.
