Pascal Wehrlein Secures Dream Victory in 100th Formula E Race at Jeddah E-Prix

Pascal Wehrlein achieved a milestone every motorsport athlete aspires to by winning the Jeddah E-Prix Part 1 in his 100th Formula E race. The Porsche driver, starting from third on the grid, executed a flawless strategy to claim his first victory and second podium finish of the season. This triumph not only ended his win drought but also catapulted him past Citroen Racing's Nick Cassidy to lead the Drivers' Standings by a significant margin.

Wehrlein's Celebratory Social Media Post and Fan Reactions

Following his win, Pascal Wehrlein took to Instagram to share celebratory photos with a witty caption that read: "I've got 99 problems but my 100th race ain't one." The post garnered enthusiastic responses from fans and friends, with comments like "Let's gooooooo Habibiii" and "SO HAPPY! What a reward on the 100th race, hope for a back-to-back on the 101st!" Another admirer exclaimed, "That's how it's doneeeee," highlighting the widespread excitement over his achievement.

Strategic Mastery Behind the Jeddah E-Prix Victory

In a post-race analysis, Wehrlein detailed the tactics that led to his success. He described it as a "super, nicely executed race," explaining, "I waited a bit with the Pit Boost but also with the Attack Mode, and I think that was the right strategy. We went into the Attack Mode and after the Pit Boost I just tried to extend the lead so that no one was in my slipstream anymore. We managed to do that and in the end I could manage the pace." He further expressed his enjoyment of the race, noting tough battles at the start and emphasizing that while topping the championship is rewarding, the win itself was his primary goal after a long wait.

Impact on Championship Standings and Team Performance

Wehrlein's victory, combined with the fastest lap at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, earned him 26 points, boosting his total to 64 points and securing the top spot in the Drivers' Standings. This performance also strengthened Porsche's position in the FIA Teams' World Championship, where they lead with 109 points, and in the Manufacturers' Standings with 125 points. Ahead of the race, Wehrlein had stated in a Porsche release, "I'm addicted to winning, that's what drives me. The team has helped me a lot to become the driver which I am today. Where we are today, it feels like we are probably the team to beat." He added, "Obviously 100 sounds already a lot, but I'm ready for the next 100 races."

Looking Ahead to the Next Race in Jeddah

The focus now shifts to Round 5 of the 2025/26 Formula E season, which continues with the Jeddah doubleheader under the lights. The upcoming race is scheduled to start at 8:05 p.m. local time (10:35 p.m. IST), offering Wehrlein an opportunity to build on his momentum and potentially secure back-to-back wins in this prestigious event.
