Fatal Crash on NICE Road Early Sunday

A 45-year-old lorry driver died after his vehicle crashed into the rear of a moving Canter on NICE Road near Bannerghatta turn in the early hours of Sunday, police said. The deceased was identified as Ramaraju, a resident of Tumakuru.

The accident occurred around 3 am when Ramaraju was driving the lorry at high speed from the Tumakuru side. As he approached the Bannerghatta turn, he rammed into the Canter moving ahead of him.

Police Investigation Underway

Police stated that Ramaraju was driving the lorry at a high speed from the Tumakuru side around 3 am. As it neared the Bannerghatta turn on NICE Road, he crashed into the rear end of a Canter moving ahead of him. The impact was severe, and Ramaraju succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

The driver of the Canter escaped unhurt. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident. Preliminary inquiries suggest that overspeeding may have been a contributing factor.
