The young prodigy continued her impressive form by defeating Hong Kong's Lo Sin Yan Happy with scores of 21-13, 21-19 in a match that lasted 38 minutes.
This victory comes on the heels of her remarkable win over former world champion Nozomi Okuhara, establishing her as one of the most promising talents in Indian badminton. The teenager displayed remarkable composure and skill throughout the quarterfinal encounter.
Mixed Fortunes for Indian Contingent
While Tanvi Sharma celebrated her success, the day brought varied results for other players. In another exciting all-Indian matchup, Unnati Hooda secured a hard-fought victory against fellow rising star Rakshitha Sree Santosh R. The match went the distance with scores of 21-15, 13-21, 21-16 in Hooda's favor.
Hooda now faces a challenging semi-final against Turkey's fourth seed Neslihan Arin, who overcame India's Isharani Baruah 21-19, 13-21, 21-15 in another three-game thriller.
Men's Draw Sees Major Upset
The tournament witnessed a significant upset in the men's singles as top seed Jai Heng Jason Teh of Singapore faced elimination in the quarterfinals. Japan's Minoru Koga emerged victorious in a closely contested battle that lasted over an hour, with final scores of 19-21, 21-12, 20-22.
Koga will now compete against Hong Kong's Jason Gunawan in the semifinals, while the other men's semi-final will feature an all-Indian clash between Kidambi Srikanth and Mithun Manjunath.
Srikanth progressed to the semifinals after Priyanshu Rajawat retired from their match at 21-14, 11-4, while Mithun secured a straight-game victory over Manraj Singh with scores of 21-18, 21-13.
Doubles Teams Shine
