The Haryana Teachers’ Eligibility Test (HTET) was conducted across multiple centres in Sonepat and Panipat districts on Saturday, with an overall attendance rate of approximately 82% among registered candidates. The examination was held under strict surveillance, with officials reporting a smooth and transparent process.

Sonepat Centres Record 79.98% Attendance

In Sonepat, a total of 3,961 candidates were scheduled to appear at 13 examination centres. Of these, 3,168 aspirants actually took the test, resulting in an attendance percentage of 79.98%. The examination covered Level-3 (PGT) on Saturday, with the second session scheduled for Sunday.

Panipat Sees Higher Turnout for PGT Exam

Panipat district hosted 18 centres for the Level-3 (PGT) examination, where 4,372 out of 5,220 registered candidates appeared. This translated to an attendance rate of 83.75%, slightly higher than Sonepat. The district administration had made extensive arrangements to ensure the exam proceeded without any disruptions.

Second Session on Sunday

On Sunday, the exam continues with Level-2 (TGT) and Level-1 (PRT) tests. In Sonepat, 6,843 candidates are expected to appear for the TGT exam, while 2,964 are scheduled for the PRT test. In Panipat, 8,252 aspirants will take the TGT exam, and 2,680 will appear for the PRT test. These numbers indicate a significant turnout across both districts.

Officials Confirm Peaceful Conduct

Panipat Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar Vashishth stated that the HTET examination was conducted in a transparent and peaceful manner on Saturday. “No untoward situation has been reported from any centre. It was made possible with solid coordination between the officials of all the departments,” he added. The administration had deployed adequate staff and security to maintain order and prevent any malpractice.

The HTET is a crucial eligibility test for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Haryana government schools. High attendance rates reflect the continued interest in teaching positions. The smooth conduct of the exam, as highlighted by the Deputy Commissioner, reinforces confidence in the recruitment process.
