Ashwin Predicts International Call-Up for U-19 Sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Following a breathtaking performance by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the U-19 World Cup final, former India spinner R Ashwin has made a bold forecast about the teenager's future. Ashwin suggested that cricket fans should not be surprised if the young prodigy breaks into international cricket in the very near future.

Extraordinary Knock in the Final

Reacting to Vaibhav's final innings, Ashwin emphasized just how remarkable the knock truly was. The 14-year-old left-hander dismantled England's bowling attack at Harare, scoring an astonishing 175 runs from just 80 deliveries. His innings featured 15 fours and 15 sixes, with a staggering 85.7% of his runs coming from boundaries.

Ashwin took to social media to express his admiration, writing, "175 (80) in the U19 WC final, 15 fours and 15 sixes with 85.7% of his runs in boundaries. That’s absurd. This is a follow up to his 68(33) in the semis chasing a 300+ target. Vaibhav has owned the big stage like he's born for it. A prodigy with serious big match temperament."

India capitalized on Vaibhav's explosive batting to post a massive total of 411 for 9, effectively putting the match beyond England's reach and securing the championship.

Consistent Tournament Performance

Ashwin also highlighted Vaibhav's consistency throughout the entire tournament. The young batsman finished as the leading run-scorer with 439 runs at an average of 62.71 and a strike rate of 169.49. He hit 30 sixes overall, with 78.35% of his runs coming from boundaries.

"A T20 Strike rate of 170 is elite," Ashwin noted. "This kid is knocking on the doors of international cricket hard & fast. Post the T20 World Cup, don’t be surprised if that door opens."

Rapid Rise to Prominence

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's ascent in the cricketing world has been nothing short of meteoric. He first burst onto the scene as a 13-year-old, scoring a century on his U-19 debut against Australia. His talent quickly caught the attention of IPL scouts, and he was subsequently picked up by the Rajasthan Royals.

On his IPL debut, Vaibhav made an immediate impact by hitting his very first ball for a six. He later smashed the second-fastest century in IPL history, cementing his reputation as a fearless and exceptionally talented player built for high-pressure situations.

With such impressive performances at such a young age, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is undoubtedly a name to watch in the future of Indian cricket.
