A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday morning near Chak Dhani village on the Ajmer-Bikaner Highway, claiming four lives and leaving four others injured. The collision involved a car and a roadways bus, with the car carrying passengers en route to Butati Dham, a religious site in Nagaur near Merta City.
Details of the Accident
The deceased have been identified as Amrish Puri (28), a resident of Bharunda, Jodhpur; Umesh Puru (26); Rukmani Devi (51); and Neetu (22), all from Jodhpur. The injured include Santish Puri (52), Jasoda (26), Mansi (3), and Vedansh (8 months). All injured individuals were initially admitted to a government hospital, with two later referred to a hospital in Jodhpur for advanced treatment.
Response and Investigation
Nagaur ASP Asaa Ram stated that local residents assisted in rushing the injured to the hospital. The collision caused a traffic jam on the highway, prompting police to remove the car from the road to restore normalcy. The roadways bus was en route to Kuchera at the time of the accident. Passengers from the bus were transferred to another roadways bus to continue their journey. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and further details are awaited.
