In a tragic incident on Friday night, four mechanics were critically injured while repairing a broken-down tractor-trailer on Chandigarh Road near Vardhman Park in Ludhiana. A speeding tipper truck rammed them from behind, causing severe fractures and spinal trauma.

The victims, identified as Jaswant Singh, Nathuram, Sheera, and Surjeet Singh, were rushed to a hospital by emergency services alerted by passersby. Two other individuals sustained minor injuries. The truck driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Officials from the Jamalpur police station arrived promptly and impounded both damaged vehicles.

Investigators stated that a formal first-information report (FIR) will be registered once the statements of the injured victims are officially recorded. The police are searching for the absconding driver.
