Gujarat Titans' Sai Sudharsan Retires Hurt vs KKR

NEW DELHI: Gujarat Titans suffered a setback during their chase against Kolkata Knight Riders after opener Sai Sudharsan retired hurt during the IPL match in Kolkata on Saturday.

Sudharsan's Injury

Sudharsan was injured on the final ball of the third over bowled by Kartik Tyagi. Attempting a pull shot to a short-of-length delivery, Sudharsan was beaten for timing and the ball struck his left elbow. He managed to complete a single through backward square leg but immediately fell to the ground in pain and removed his gloves.

The physio rushed onto the field and an ice pack was applied to Sudharsan's left elbow before he walked off retired hurt. While Jos Buttler was seen ready near the boundary rope, it was Nishant Sindhu who came out to bat next.

After Allen's dismissal, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green carried the momentum forward with an unbeaten 108-run partnership off 53 balls for the third wicket. Raghuvanshi remained unbeaten on 82, while Green stayed not out on 52.

Gujarat Titans had a poor outing in the field, dropping four catches in total. Raghuvanshi was dropped by Washington Sundar on 52, while Green got a reprieve on 23 when Arshad Khan put down a catch off Rashid Khan.
