JNT U-12 Cricket Tournament Inaugurated in Kanpur

The JNT U-12 Cricket Tournament for the Sigma Griplock Trophy was formally inaugurated at Kanpur South Ground on Sunday. Former UP Ranji Trophy player and India A team member Ankit Rajput expressed his gratitude to the JNT organisation and the Kanpur Cricket Association for organising the event, stating that the JNT is preparing a new nursery of young cricketers.

Guest Speakers and Officials

Director of UPCA Riyasat Ali and SDM Maharajpur Vivek Kumar Mishra, present as special guests, praised the JNT’s efforts in grooming future cricketers. Sanjay Tiwari of the organisation announced that all matches will be of 25 overs per innings and will be played under floodlights.

Ceremony and Participants

The programme, conducted by Ahmad Ali Khan Talib, concluded with colourful fireworks. IM Rohatgi, president of JNT organisation, along with Prabod Sharma, Sanjay Shukla (secretary), Amit Mishra, S N Singh, Sanjay Tiwari (president and vice-president of KCA), Dinesh Singh, and others were present on the occasion. The teams were decided by lottery, and kits were delivered to all 12 participating teams.

Teams and Fixtures

The teams competing are: Liverpool, Goldi Spices, Purf, Prime Employment, Mapple Wood, SNK, Sigma Griplock, Oliver Brown, Balmol, Soloware UK, DKG Entertainment, and Swastick International. Monday’s fixtures: Kanpur South A Ground – Goldi Masale vs SNK XI; Kanpur South B Ground – Swastik International vs Sigma Griplock XI at 6:30 am.
